If history repeats itself, I am so getting a dinosaur! (Anonymous)
Thinking about the musings from Day 156: The Holy Bible And Meteorology – 2 Corinthians To Revelation.…
I would submit to you that now that we have completed reviewing 211 bible verses that relate to the scientific field of meteorology, the scientific journey still continues. I would further submit to you that as we now complete our 6th branch of science, (astronomy, biology, anthropology, geology, hydrology and now meteorology), we now need to turn our attention to the next scientific field, this one with over 75 references that can be found in the Holy Bible:
Paleontology.
Of course, before jumping into this next scientific field, we must establish a baseline as to what qualifies as paleontology. And for that, we need a standard definition:
The study of past geological periods as known from fossil remains, (dinosaurs).
Now that we have an understanding as to what the scientific study of paleontology is, it is now time to begin locating the bible verses that relate to paleontology.
So now, let us begin with 18 bible verses that contain the following concept relating to the scientific study of paleontology that can be found in the book of Genesis:
1. Genesis 1:19-21 KJV:
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
2. Genesis 1:23-25 KJV:
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
3. Genesis 1:26-28 KJV:
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
4. Genesis 1:29-31 KJV:
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
5. Genesis 6:13 KJV:
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
6. Genesis 7:2-3 KJV:
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. 3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
7. Genesis 7:8-9 KJV:
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth, 9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
8. Genesis 7:20 KJV:
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
And there you have it.
18 bible verses found in the book of Genesis, whose focus can be considered under the scientific branch of paleontology.
While I would submit to you that these 18 bible verses help one to understand that there is a strong connection between the Holy Bible and the scientific branch of paleontology, it is possible that you may not be convinced of any connection….
Yet.
So, what are the next set of bible verses relating to the scientific field of paleontology?
That question will be answered next time.
Do not feel discouraged if you do not see a connection with the 18 sets of verses from today from the Holy Bible that relate to the scientific field of paleontology. Do not feel discouraged if you are still unsure that the verses contained in these bible verses contain any scientific relevance at all. Instead, understand that after you have read these verses, you are continuing the process of learning about the relationship between the scientific field of paleontology and the Holy Bible…perhaps without even realizing it.
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. (Genesis 7:20 KJV)
Was today’s blog a little confusing at times? Was the content perhaps a little overwhelming? Did you feel lost not understanding some or most of the subject matter?
Those feelings are totally understandable and it is ok to have one or more of those feelings. Remember that you are reading Day 157: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – Genesis…Just Genesis.
If you haven’t been in class since the first day of school…or when the project began…or when the contract was first signed, etc., these feelings make perfect and logistical sense.
Please feel free to go back to where all of this began:
