Day 143: The Holy Bible And Meteorology – Exodus To 2 Samuel.

Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet. (Roger Miller)

Thinking about the musings from Day 142: The Holy Bible And Meteorology – Genesis To Exodus.

I would submit to you that once you understand what the definition of meteorology is, it is easy to spot references to this scientific field in the Holy Bible. I would further submit to you that once you recognize what to look for, these references are bountiful indeed.

In Day 142: The Holy Bible And Meteorology – Genesis To Exodus., 15 bible verses were covered that are contained in the books Genesis to Exodus.

So now, let us continue with 14 more bible verses that contain the following concept relating to the scientific study of meteorology, that can be found in the books of Exodus to 2 Samuel:

1. Exodus 16:13 KJV:

13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.

2. Leviticus 26:2-4 KJV:

Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

3. Numbers 11:31 KJV:

31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.

4. Deuteronomy 11:17 KJV:

17 And then the Lord’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you.

5. Deuteronomy 28:12 KJV:

12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

6. Deuteronomy 28:23-24 KJV:

23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron. 24 The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

7. Joshua 10:11 KJV:

11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

8. Judges 5:4 KJV:

Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.

9. 1 Samuel 12:17-18 KJV:

17 Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the Lord, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the Lord, in asking you a king. 18 So Samuel called unto the Lord; and the Lord sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel.

10. 2 Samuel 21:1 KJV:

1Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

And there you have it.

14 sets of bible verses found in Exodus To 2 Samuel, whose focus can be considered under the scientific branch of meteorology.

While I would submit to you that these 14 bible verses help one to understand that there is a strong connection between the Holy Bible and the scientific branch of meteorology, it is possible that you may not be convinced of any connection….

Yet.

So, what are the next set of bible verses relating to the scientific field of meteorology?

That question will be answered next time.

Do not feel discouraged if you do not see a connection with the 14 sets of verses from today from the Holy Bible that relate to the scientific field of meteorology. Do not feel discouraged if you are still unsure that the verses contained in these bible verses contain any scientific relevance at all. Instead, understand that after you have read these verses, you are continuing the process of learning about the relationship between the scientific field of meteorology and the Holy Bible…perhaps without even realizing it.

1Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites. (2 Samuel 21:1 KJV)

Was today’s blog a little confusing at times? Was the content perhaps a little overwhelming? Did you feel lost not understanding some or most of the subject matter?

Those feelings are totally understandable and it is ok to have one or more of those feelings. Remember that you are reading Day 143: The Holy Bible And Meteorology – Exodus To 2 Samuel.

If you haven’t been in class since the first day of school…or when the project began…or when the contract was first signed, etc., these feelings make perfect and logistical sense.
