Day 142: The Holy Bible And Meteorology – Genesis To Exodus.

I always like walking in the rain, so no one can see me crying. (Charlie Chaplin)

Thinking about the musings from Day 141: The Holy Bible And Hydrology – Psalms To Amos.

I would submit to you that now that we have completed reviewing 33 bible verses that relate to the scientific field of hydrology, the scientific journey still continues. I would further submit to you that as we now complete our 5th branch of science, (astronomy, biology, anthropology, geology and now hydrology), we now need to turn our attention to the next scientific field, this one with over 180 references that can be found in the Holy Bible:

Meteorology.

Of course, before jumping into this next scientific field, we must establish a baseline as to what qualifies as meteorology. And for that, we need a standard definition:

The atmosphere and its phenomena and especially with weather and weather forecasting.

Now that we have an understanding as to what the scientific study of meteorology is, it is now time to begin locating the bible verses that relate to meteorology.

So now, let us begin with 15 bible verses that contain the following concept relating to the scientific study of meteorology:

1. Genesis 7:12 KJV:

12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

2. Genesis 8:1-3 KJV:

1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged; The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

3. Genesis 8:22 KJV:

22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

4. Genesis 27:28-29 KJV:

28 Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: 29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

5. Genesis 31:40 KJV:

40 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

6. Genesis 41:30-31 KJV:

30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land; 31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

7. Exodus 9:23 KJV:

23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.

8. Exodus 9:33 KJV:

33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the Lord: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.

9. Exodus 14:21 KJV:

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

10. Exodus 15:9-10 KJV:

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. 10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

And there you have it.

15 sets of bible verses found in Genesis To Exodus, whose focus can be considered under the scientific branch of meteorology.

While I would submit to you that these 15 bible verses help one to understand that there is a strong connection between the Holy Bible and the scientific branch of meteorology, it is possible that you may not be convinced of any connection….

Yet.

So, what are the next set of bible verses relating to the scientific field of meteorology?

That question will be answered next time.

Do not feel discouraged if you do not see a connection with the 15 sets of verses from today from the Holy Bible that relate to the scientific field of meteorology. Do not feel discouraged if you are still unsure that the verses contained in these bible verses contain any scientific relevance at all. Instead, understand that after you have read these verses, you are continuing the process of learning about the relationship between the scientific field of meteorology and the Holy Bible…perhaps without even realizing it.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. 10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters. (Exodus 15:9-10 KJV)

Was today’s blog a little confusing at times? Was the content perhaps a little overwhelming? Did you feel lost not understanding some or most of the subject matter?

Those feelings are totally understandable and it is ok to have one or more of those feelings. Remember that you are reading Day 142: The Holy Bible And Meteorology – Genesis To Exodus.

If you haven’t been in class since the first day of school…or when the project began…or when the contract was first signed, etc., these feelings make perfect and logistical sense.

Please feel free to go back to where all of this began:
