Day 138: The Holy Bible And Geology – Just The Rocks – Ecclesiastes To Revelation.

The right way usually lies between two extremes: it is the narrow channel between the rock and the whirlpool. (Charles Spurgeon)

Thinking about the musings from Day 137: The Holy Bible And Geology – Just The Rocks – Part 1.

I would submit to you that once you understand what the definition of geology is, it is easy to spot references to this scientific field in the Holy Bible. I would further submit to you that once you recognize what to look for, these references are bountiful indeed.

In Day 135: The Holy Bible And Geology – Genesis To Job., 14 bible verses were covered that are contained in the books Genesis to Job.

In Day 136: The Holy Bible And Geology – Psalms To Peter., 23 bible verses were covered that are contained in the books Psalms to Peter.

In Day 137: The Holy Bible And Geology – Just The Rocks – Exodus To Psalms., 19 bible verses were covered that are contained in the books Exodus to Psalms.

So now, let us continue on with 16 more bible verses that contain the following concept relating to the scientific study of geology, and in this case, specifically relating to rocks, that can be found in the books of Ecclesiastes through Revelation:

1. Ecclesiastes 3:5 KJV:

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

2. Isaiah 2:10 KJV:

10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty.

3. Isaiah 32:2 KJV:

And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

4. Isaiah 51:1 KJV:

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.

28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth. (Jeremiah 48:28 KJV)

6. Mathew 7:24-27 KJV:

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. (Mathew 7:24-27 KJV)

7. Matthew 16:18 KJV:

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18 KJV)

8. Luke 6:48 KJV:

48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

9. Luke 8:13 KJV:

13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

10. 1 Corinthians 10:4 KJV:

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

11. 1 Peter 2:4 KJV:

To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

12. 1 Peter 2:8 KJV:

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

13. Revelation 21:11 KJV:

11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

And there you have it.

So, at final count, there are 72 bible verses, who by definition, qualify under the scientific branch of geology.

Are there a couple of verses that I may have missed?

Possibly.

However, whether I found them all or maybe missed a couple, what is clear is that you cannot deny the fact that there is a strong connection between the Holy Bible and the scientific branch of geology.

So the question has to be, after covering the scientific branches of: astronomy, biology, anthropology, and now geology, are there any other branches of science that can be found in the Holy Bible?

That question will be answered next time.

Do not feel discouraged if you do not see a connection with the 16 sets of verses from today from the Holy Bible that relate to the scientific field of geology. Do not feel discouraged if you are still unsure that the verses contained in these bible verses contain any scientific relevance at all. Instead, understand that after you have read this these verses, you are continuing the process of learning about the relationship between the scientific field of geology and the Holy Bible…perhaps without even realizing it.

11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; (Revelation 21:11 KJV)

Was today’s blog a little confusing at times? Was the content perhaps a little overwhelming? Did you feel lost not understanding some or most of the subject matter?

Those feelings are totally understandable and it is ok to have one or more of those feelings. Remember that you are reading Day 138: The Holy Bible And Geology – Just The Rocks – Ecclesiastes To Revelation.

If you haven’t been in class since the first day of school…or when the project began…or when the contract was first signed, etc., these feelings make perfect and logistical sense.

Please feel free to go back to where all of this began:
