SMAUG: I kill where I wish, when I wish! My armour is iron! NO BLADE CAN PIERCE ME! (J. R. R. Tolkien, The Hobbit)
Thinking about the musings from Day 159: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – The Book Of Job.…
I would submit to you that once you understand what the definition of paleontology is, it is easy to spot references to this scientific field in the Holy Bible. I would further submit to you that once you recognize what to look for, these references are bountiful indeed.
In Day 157: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – Genesis…Just Genesis., 18 bible verses were covered that are contained in the book of Genesis.
In Day 158: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – Exodus To Revelation., 15 bible verses were covered that are contained in the books of Exodus to Revelation.
In Day 159: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – The Book Of Job., 14 bible verses were covered that are contained in the book of Job.
So now, let us continue with 17 more bible verses that contain the following concept relating to the scientific study of paleontology, that can be found in the book of Job…Part 2:
1. Job 41:5-6 KJV:
5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? 6 Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?
2. Job 41:7-8 KJV:
7 Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? 8 Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.
3. Job 41:9-10 KJV:
9 Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? 10 None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
4. Job 41:11-12 KJV:
11 Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. 12 I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.
5. Job 41:13-14 KJV:
13 Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? 14 Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.
6. Job 41:15-17 KJV:
15 His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. 16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. 17 They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.
7. Job 41:18-19 KJV:
18 By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. 19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
And there you have it.
14 sets of bible verses found in the book of Job…Part 2, whose focus can be considered under the scientific branch of paleontology.
While I would submit to you that these 14 bible verses help one to understand that there is a strong connection between the Holy Bible and the scientific branch of paleontology, it is possible that you may not be convinced of any connection….
Yet.
So, what are the next set of bible verses relating to the scientific field of paleontology?
That question will be answered after some rest.
Do not feel discouraged if you do not see a connection with the 14 sets of verses from today from the Holy Bible that relate to the scientific field of paleontology. Do not feel discouraged if you are still unsure that the verses contained in these bible verses contain any scientific relevance at all. Instead, understand that after you have read these verses, you are continuing the process of learning about the relationship between the scientific field of meteorology and the Holy Bible…perhaps without even realizing it.
18 By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. 19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. (Job 41:18-19 KJV)
Was today’s blog a little confusing at times? Was the content perhaps a little overwhelming? Did you feel lost not understanding some or most of the subject matter?
Those feelings are totally understandable and it is ok to have one or more of those feelings. Remember that you are reading Day 160: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – The Book Of Job…Part 2.
If you haven’t been in class since the first day of school…or when the project began…or when the contract was first signed, etc., these feelings make perfect and logistical sense.
Please feel free to go back to where all of this began:
