It simply isn’t an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. (J. R. R. Tolkien)
Thinking about the musings from Day 157: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – Genesis…Just Genesis.…
I would submit to you that once you understand what the definition of paleontology is, it is easy to spot references to this scientific field in the Holy Bible. I would further submit to you that once you recognize what to look for, these references are bountiful indeed.
In Day 157: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – Genesis…Just Genesis., 18 bible verses were covered that are contained in the book of Genesis.
So now, let us continue with 15 more bible verses that contain the following concept relating to the scientific study of paleontology, that can be found in the books of Exodus To…Revelation:
1. Exodus 20:11 KJV:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
2. Psalm 74:13-14 KJV:
13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. 14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
3. Psalm 104:25-26 KJV:
25 So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. 26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
4. Psalm 148:7 KJV:
7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
5. Isaiah 27:1 KJV:
In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
6. Isaiah 51:8-9 KJV:
8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation. 9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?
7. Ezekiel 29:2-3 KJV:
2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt: 3 Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
8. Jonah 1:15-17 KJV:
15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging. 16 Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, and made vows. 17 Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
And there you have it.
18 sets of bible verses found in the books of Exodus to Revelation, whose focus can be considered under the scientific branch of paleontology.
While I would submit to you that these 18 bible verses help one to understand that there is a strong connection between the Holy Bible and the scientific branch of paleontology, it is possible that you may not be convinced of any connection….
Yet.
So, what are the next set of bible verses relating to the scientific field of paleontology?
That question will be answered next time.
Do not feel discouraged if you do not see a connection with the 18 sets of verses from today from the Holy Bible that relate to the scientific field of paleontology. Do not feel discouraged if you are still unsure that the verses contained in these bible verses contain any scientific relevance at all. Instead, understand that after you have read these verses, you are continuing the process of learning about the relationship between the scientific field of meteorology and the Holy Bible…perhaps without even realizing it.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. (Revelation 13:2 KJV)
Was today’s blog a little confusing at times? Was the content perhaps a little overwhelming? Did you feel lost not understanding some or most of the subject matter?
Those feelings are totally understandable and it is ok to have one or more of those feelings. Remember that you are reading Day 158: The Holy Bible And Paleontology – Exodus To Revelation.
If you haven’t been in class since the first day of school…or when the project began…or when the contract was first signed, etc., these feelings make perfect and logistical sense.
Please feel free to go back to where all of this began:
